Lviv - Flowers
Everywhere I go I seem to see flowers. One day I said to myself it will be sad to see the fall and winter arrive. All these flowers will be gone. So I decided to try and collect a few images and dedicate a little post to give an overview of what you will typically see. No doubt you have seen flowers in previous posts. Most images I did not shoot with a theme in mind. But I appreciated what I was seeing. Once again I will be delivering an eclectic mix of images. Hopefully that will give you a broader sense of what you can expect to see. As I spend more time here I kind of understand where I got my love of flowers and growing plants from. I just have not done enough of it, but I have a feeling that will be changing.
квіти (Kvity) means flowers in Ukrainian. Interesting thing I discovered while trying to learn the language is that the month of April (anyone know why that month may have some significance for me?) is called квітень (Kviten). The time when flowers are blooming and nature is waking up from winter.
Quite often you will see just a little addition of a flowers on a table. Just a quaint little touch of colour. A small and polite gesture for prospective guests. As you will see, nothing lavish just a little touch of . . . Lviv.
There seem to be so many flower shops around the city. Displays will be set out front to show off their colours. Most of the time they are set out in the cardboard boxes they arrived in; other times they are displayed a little more like what you see below. Really makes walking around this city so interesting for me.
