As you can see I had to dedicate a separate post to include more of the colour surrounding I am in. Or I just take too many photos. Regardless, there seemed to be so much that looked interesting to me.
I get to see a lot of these things because I walk everywhere. Maybe something more people could do from time to time. A nice thing to do on a weekend with coffee/tea in hand. Just start walking. Sometimes with no agenda or destination in mind. Turn . . . umm, left - just because. It may be nice to just slow your life down for a few hours. Look around you, instead of your phone screen. It is such a shame to see almost everyone in society just walking and staring at their devices. I hope some of the images from this theme give you an incentive to just look around and enjoy the beauty and creativity around you. And PLEASE for irony sake don’t be reading my post while you are walking around - or with someone you should be having a conversation with (just share it with them - there is a button for it).
As I mentioned in Part I there was so much ivy on buildings I was seeing. I didn’t capture much of what I was seeing. But at some point I decided to take a chance and see if they would turn colour like other plants and trees. I managed to see a lot more colour than I have in many years. It made this Fall more enjoyable for me. While many see this time of year as a sort of ending, I sometimes view it as a beginning or a continuation. Part of the circle of life. The leaves falling in order to decompose and bring nutrients and life to the soil. Restoring and rejuvenating the earth. Continuing to provide for the growth that will resume in the spring.
Here is an example of how the change can look between when the ivy is lush and green, to when the transition of colour arrive.
An early sign that the seasons are changing. Nature providing a few splashes of colour. Depending on where you are, it can be nice to watch a scene like this over the weeks and watch the changes take fold.
Sometimes the changes happen early for some plants. Providing a nice contrast in colour.
It was a good idea I decided to grab this shot on this particular day. Soon after the winds changed this scene. Despite still so much greenery, there was a lot less leaves. I may have caught this scene at it peak. Multiples of colour and intensities of hues.
The signs that summer is passing. More and more leaves falling. Some days the winds of change bring more to our feet.
Then one day your feet are covered. Hearing some of the dried leaves crunching beneath your footsteps. The smell of fallen leaves in the air. Every once in a while you give a gentle kick, much as you did when you were a kid.
